Hornbæk Beach, North Zealand,Denmark

Hornbæk is a seaside resort town on the north coast of the Danish island of Zealand(Nordsjælland), facing the Øresund which separates Denmark from Sweden. It is part of Helsingør Municipality and is located 12 km north-west of Elsinore, and is mainly known for its mundane holiday homes and broad sandy beaches.

  • When the Hornbæk Railway was inaugurated on 22 May 1906, the town was invaded by tourists. Bathing jetties and bathing huts were common along the coast.

  • The kilometre long well kept sandy beach is child-friendly and has safe shallow waters for bathing, watched over by lifeguards.
